Name: Gabriele Cruciata
Born in Rome, Italy, 1994. I live in Groningen, Netherlands, where I study journalism. I work as a freelance journalist and fixer, usually covering stories about mafia, criminality and social conflicts.
In Italy, I published investigations on La Repubblica, Fatto Quotidiano e Sole 24 Ore. I’ve also worked with Die Zeit (Germany), Mediapart (France) and Sveriges Radio (Sweden). I cooperate with IRPI, the first investigative journalism centre in Italy.
I do believe in journalism as an act of freedom and good citizenship. Investigating is a way to uncover stories and make people more aware of the world around us.
