I grew up in the county of Cork in the south of Ireland. Persuasive writing was my forte in secondary school and I was also passionate about politics and current affairs. I decided to pursue a four year Bachelor in Government at University College Cork.

In my third years of studies I completed an internship in politics serving as a PA for Ciarán Lynch TD in his constituency office and in the houses of parliament.

I graduated in 2013 and spent the next four years working in Australia, New Zealand and London. I have 12 years of experience in the hospitality sector and I also have valuable experience in healthcare administration which was gained through the Auckland District Health Board and The Royal College of Physicians.

I decided to pursue a masters in journalism because I wanted to develop my writing skills and contribute to the feminist movement by helping to narrow the gap in gender inequality.
